With reference to servo position, for the best and shortest pipe run, I always fit them to the R/H inner wing, in this position it does not get in the way of any service actions, or engine removal

Dave you don't need to remove the bonnet, to get a crane in, just tie it back

Dennis I have just been reading my original post to you and noticed that I didn't put down a timing chain adjuster lock tab, you will need to ad that to your list sorry,

You will need to change the front bearer plate, you can sometimes see these for sale on ebay for between £25 to £30 , you will also need a crank pulley lock tab, timing cover gasket and seal, cam gear lock tab, 3 star washers for the camshaft thrust pad bolts, and a front bearer plate gasket, as for...

Steve. with reference to hydraulic seals, by following the correct service schedule for these cars, and replacing them every 36 months or 36,000 miles, and the brake fluid every 18 months, this greatly reduces the chance of failure, also new seals have a shelf life,

I forgot to mention on cars fitted with carburettor crankcase ventilation, changing the oil filler cap is a service item, that should be changed every 12,000 miles or 12 months, (helps with engine oil leaks)

I think the most important part of all this is correct maintenance, and a strict service schedule, then items like fan belts, hoses, oil leaks, water leaks, etc,should not be a problem, I always service my car when I put it back on the road after its winter storage, so that's just once a year, howev...
