The difficulty, if you still have the original threaded holes in the floorpan, is lining up the seat, the wooden runner, with the threaded hole. One way round this is to insert long bolts upwards through the threaded holes and then lower everything into place. Then take out each one in turn and repl...

Would It be worth asking a company such as: "Classic Cars - Rubber Seal Supplier for Your Classic Car" https://coh-baines.co.uk/collections/classic-cars?gf_438969=279312236733 to manufacture a batch for us? They make seals in several types of "rubber" so may have what is required...

As far as I know the chrome fitting just pushes in to holes on the scuttle. Held by small plastic inserts for a tight fit. Just levers out.

Thanks for the reply Mike, that's probably what I expected to hear. As it happens I topped up my old heavy duty 6volt batteries ( electrolyte was very low) put them on my Ctek battery conditioner, and they seem fine, so didn't replace them in the end.
