Re: 1967 MGB Brake uprate

Early MGB's had a remote servo (mine has). Its possible to buy a kit. I replaced my servo about 5 years ago because the engine was ingesting brake fluid. David Manners did me a good deal on genuine AP. They do the kit part number TT3949 for £140, but check out other suppliers too (Moss, MGOC etc) ht...

Re: Anti roll bar modification and a low cost alternative.

I agree with your stiffness calculations Rubberlugs. I fitted a 3/4" anti roll bar to my 1971 roadster and am very pleased with the result. I had previousl fitted rubber bumper front springs (but without the spacers) to gain a bit of ride height. My middle box still catches occasionally though....

Re: Improvement ideas

Its not as easy to tune the B series as the A. You tend to have to do a whole package of things to get an improvement in performance. It depends on what you want. Most of us want more bottom end torque rather than top end power. Things like K&N filters, sports exhaust and longer period cams tend...

Re: Barum Brillantis 2 pressure

I have Avon 175/70 on my B roadster and I run 28 psi all round. Any higher the ride becomes harsh, lower and the steering becomes heavy. Grip seems fine and balance good

Re: Tappet chest side covers.

The problem with cork is that it hardens/settles so the elastomer gasket is the better option long term. I always glue the gasket to the cover with gasket goo. The last time I fitted an elastomer one it seemed too small for the cover with the breather which made it difficult to glue. I was doing thi...

Re: DfT Guidance on Substantial Change of Historic Vehicles

Had a reply from David Pope of the DfT but he didn't answer the question so I've gone back to him. If we register our cars as VHI will our voluntary MOT's be recorded and our MOT history preserved so it can be viewed online buy potential buyers. As I understand it we will not get the chance to regis...

Re: Engine Oil

It was 65p a gallon for 2* when I started driving. My 850 cc minivan went well on it. Thrashed it mercilessly but still did 40+ to the gallon. Always used Duckhams oil and changed every 3000 miles
